United Way Celebrates Record Participation at 40th Annual Citrus Golf Tournament
VERO BEACH, June 10, 2026 – United Way of Indian River County celebrated a successful 40th Annual Citrus Golf Tournament on Monday, May 18 at the exclusive Vero Beach Country Club, welcoming a record 25 foursomes for a day of golf, community, and giving back.
Players enjoyed beautiful weather and a memorable day on the course while helping raise critical funds to support programs that strengthen health, education, and financial stability throughout Indian River County.
“This year’s tournament was incredibly special,” said Meredith Egan, CEO of United Way of Indian River County. “Celebrating 40 years of this tradition alongside so many generous sponsors, volunteers, and community members was truly meaningful. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make the day a success.”
United Way also extended special thanks to Vero Beach Country Club and its staff for their hospitality and partnership in hosting this year’s event.
The tournament was made possible through the generous support of community sponsors, including Gold Sponsors Publix, The Hill Group, Soprema USA, and the Bernard A. Egan Foundation. Silver Sponsors included Peter Anderson Raymond James, Schlitt Services, GM Consulting, Compass Sales Group, Complete Electric, Johns Manville/QXO, Drexel Metals, Northern Trust, Dill, Evans & Rhodeback, SouthState Bank, and Vero Beach Roofing, along with many additional drink, tee, and in-kind sponsors who helped bring the event to life.
Teams competed in a tournament scramble with flight winners recognized during the post-event awards celebration and luncheon. Special contest winners included Leighanne Thompson for Women’s Closet to the Pin and Women’s Longest Drive, Ray Hengerer for Men’s Closest to the Pin, and Vinny Keeler for Men’s Longest Drive.
Funds raised through the tournament support United Way of Indian River County’s mission to improve lives and strengthen the community through strategic investments and partnerships focused on health, education, and financial stability.
