John’s Island Foundation Benefits

Treasure Coast Community Health Pediatric Dental Program

Indian River County, FL — March 26, 2026 — John’s Island Foundation awarded Treasure Coast Community Health (TCCH) a $100,000 grant for outfitting the new Pediatric Center, adjacent to our current Oslo Health Center, with dental equipment specifically designed for children.

The new pediatric facility will offer comprehensive dental services, including routine check-ups, cleanings, and preventive treatments, all tailored to meet the unique needs of our youngest patients. It will include seven dental operatories crafted with children in mind, providing a welcoming, child-friendly environment that reduces anxiety and fosters a positive experience. Once built, we will be able to increase the annual number of dental appointments for children from 2,500 to 5,000.

The Oslo Pediatric Center, with dedicated space for comprehensive support services, will greatly enhance our ability to meet the needs of Indian River County families. The collaborative environment it offers will improve access to vital healthcare resources and foster stronger connections between families and their care teams, leading to healthier outcomes for children and parents alike. This Center will play a critical role in establishing the importance of health from an early age, setting the

foundation for lifelong wellness. By focusing on preventive care and early intervention, we are not only

impacting individual families today but also creating a generational ripple effect that promote a healthier future for our entire community.

“When children lack access to dental care, it can have significant effects not only on their oral health but also quality of life, and the ability to confidently speak and interact with others,” said Dr. Joseph Catuogno, TCCH Dental Director. “This John’s Island Foundation grant is pivotal because pediatric dental equipment provides a welcoming, child-friendly environment that reduces anxiety and fosters a positive experience.”
