Kirk Fusco
Florida Department of Environmental Protection
Tuesday, January 6, 2026, 12:00 PM
Join us virtually or at Ted Moorhead Lagoon House as Kirk Fusco of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection presents on the biology of horseshoe crabs. Horseshoe crabs, although often difficult to find in the IRL, play a critical role in Lagoon ecology. They are both anatomical and biomedical marvels, with their species existing unchanged for over 400 million years. Beyond describing horseshoe crabs’ fascinating biology, this presentation will also begin to delve into the little-known topic of their seasonal movements and ranges.
The seminar will end with a live Q&A session. Given the limited seating in the Lagoon House and an increased demand for in-person tickets, there is a $5 in-person attendance fee. Please feel free to bring your own lunch. Coffee and cookies will be provided. Viewing Lagoon at Noon presentations via Zoom continues to be free. We thank you for your continued support of our Lagoon at Noon Program.
The Zoom link will be in your confirmation email. A recording of the presentation will be posted to MRC's YouTube page for future viewing.
Thank You!
