Today, we’re halfway through December, and coincidentally, 50% into our end-of-year giving goal. Our end-of-year goal is as ambitious as our initiatives for the upcoming year. In the new year, Marine Resources Council aims to expand its nursery with additional native species, recruit, train, and equip new citizen-scientist LagoonWatch monitors, and continue restoring vital Lagoon habitats. These upgrades and expansions will come at a cost. This is where you come in.
Your support truly makes a difference.
- $30 supports a month of water monitoring at one LagoonWatch site, including temperature, salinity, pH, nitrogen, and phosphorus levels.
- $300 will buy a dissolved oxygen probe for one LagoonWatch monitor. Dissolved oxygen is important for understanding the effects of algae on fish and other marine life populations.
- $500 covers mangrove nursery expenses for a month at both our Palm Bay and Sebastian nurseries.
- $1500 restores 50 feet of shoreline with mangrove trees and other native plants.
