MARINE RESOURCES COUNCIL | FEBRUARY 2026 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY EVENTS
Hello MRC Volunteers!
January was an incredibly productive month for our dedicated volunteers! In addition to our two new volunteer orientations, we hosted 9 events, totaling 114 volunteer hours. Thank you to everyone who joined us in January!
Read on to find our February volunteer opportunities listed below.
February 6 - First Friday Litter Sweep
February 13 - Palm Bay Mangrove Workshop
February 18 - EFSC Volunteer Fair Tabling: Melbourne Campus
February 19 - EFSC Volunteer Fair Tabling: Palm Bay Campus
February 28 - Sebastian Mangrove Workshop
I also wanted to highlight a very special event we have coming up in February. Marine Resources Council will be hosting a "Fall in Love with Birding" Beginner Birding Workshop at 9AM on February 14 at the Ted Moorhead Lagoon House in Palm Bay. If you've ever attended an event at our Palm Bay campus, you've probably heard or seen all of the birds we have around the Lagoon House! Our beginner birding workshop will include a presentation by local ornithologist Matthew Anderson and a chance to contribute to the Great Backyard Bird Count!
If you're interested in joining us, you can learn more and purchase your ticket on our ticketing page: Fall in Love with Birding Workshop.
Whether at a volunteering opportunity, our birding event, or around the Lagoon House, I hope to see you all soon! As always, please reach out if there is anything I can do to further your volunteering goals.
Yours in stewardship,
Brooke Blosser
Science Communication & Outreach Coordinator
