Youth Kindness Day Celebration Brings Community Together March 21

Indian River County, FL — Community members of all ages are invited to celebrate Youth Kindness Day on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 1:00–4:00 PM at the Environmental Learning Center. During the event, County Commissioner Laura Moss will present a proclamation officially recognizing March 21, 2026, as “Youth Kindness Day in IRC.” 

Everyone is invited to take part in this uplifting event celebrating the powerful message, “Together, We Are Stronger.” Participants receive complimentary admission. The celebration will feature inspiring speakers, children’s activities, live performances, prize giveaways, and opportunities to explore the Environmental Learning Center’s nature trails, Living Lagoon, and touch tank. Kayak and canoe rentals will also be available. 

Guest speakers include Dr. Peggy Jones, who will discuss kindness initiatives in Indian River County schools, and Pam O’Donnell, Past President of Sunrise Rotary, who will introduce youth to the importance of kindness and the Rotary Four-Way Test. Theater and music professionals C.C. Loveheart and John Simon will lead interactive 30-minute workshops for children ages 5–9, where participants will create songs around the theme “What Being Kind Means.” 

The event is part of the veroBEachKIND campaign, a grassroots initiative encouraging residents to “spread sunshine, not hate” across Indian River County. From January through March 2026, youth groups throughout the county are participating in projects that promote kindness, empathy, and understanding.
