Every summer, dozens of families reach out asking for help. They want to send their children to camp but cannot afford the full cost. With your support, we can say yes.

Maggy Bowman, one of the founders of the Environmental Learning Center, had a great interest in environmental education. She thought that children learned better through hands-on, feet-wet activities and was passionate about fostering a child’s care for the environment.

When she passed away, ELC established the Maggy Bowman Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance to children in Indian River County.

As we prepare for summer camp, our need to replenish this fund is great. Please consider supporting our scholarship fund to help ensure every child has the chance to attend, regardless of financial circumstances. We also utilize our scholarships to support students from local non-profits, such as Homeless Children’s Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs, and others, to experience hands-on, feet-wet learning. They have a chance to explore the lagoon, discover science firsthand, and build lifelong memories.
