REMINDER: END OF YEAR ACTION ITEM:
UPDATE: On 12/4, a Texas court has paused this requirement, however, we recommend you go ahead and get this done as it only takes a few minutes and then you are set either way:
Earlier this year, the Federal Government announced a new requirement for all businesses to file a Beneficial Ownership Information BOI report. This is a REQUIREMENT with hefty fines if not filed on time.
Below are the 3 deadline guidelines:
1. If your business was created or registered before January 1, 2024, your deadline to file is January 1, 2025.
2. If your business was created or registered in 2024, you have 90 calendar days to file after receiving notice of your business’s creation or registration.
3. If your business will be created or registered on or after January 1, 2025, you will only have 30 calendar days to file after receiving notice of your business’s creation or registration.
There is no fee to file. To file, go to BOI E-FILING and select "File BOIR."
This takes roughly five minutes to complete and you will need your EIN or SSN and a picture of your ID to attach to the filing. Use the button below to watch a webinar we hosted with attorney Kelly Swartz walking through BOI filing. We recommend getting this done ASAP!!
