Festival Begins April 10-13, 2025

The Vero Beach Film Festival invites you to join us for the Florida premiere screening of SENTENCED.

This captivating documentary explores the epidemic of childhood illiteracy. The film tells a forceful yet tender tale of how literacy can free children from generational poverty.

 

Narrated by NBA champion Stephen Curry and produced by Jeff Martin.

 

We are proud to support this event, which is presented by The Learning Alliance and Moonshot Community Action Network, and the great work they are doing to help improve grade-level reading in Indian River County.

After the screening, enjoy refreshments and light hors d’oeuvres while discussing solutions and volunteer opportunities to improve literacy in IRC.

Admission is free but space is limited so tickets and registration are required.

·    September 17, 2024, at the Vero Beach Theatre Guild,

2020 San Juan Ave, Vero Beach, FL

 

·    September 18, 2024, at the North Indian River County Library,

1001 Sebastian Blvd., Sebastian, FL

 

Doors open at 5:30 pm

Film viewing begins at 6:00 pm

Refreshments and discussion runs from 7:15 pm - 8:00 pm

 

This effort is coordinated and sponsored by The Learning Alliance and hosted by The Vero Beach Theatre Guild with support from The Vero Beach Film Festival. The event on 9/18 is hosted by the North County (Sebastian) Library.

 

Due to the emotional themes in this documentary, this event is for adults only.

Admission: FREE

Doors Open: 5:30 pm

Film Time: 6:00 - 7:15 pm

Reception: 45-minute discussion with refreshments after the film
