United Way of Indian River County Offers Free Income Tax Preparation Assistance
VERO BEACH, January 13, 2025 – United Way of Indian River County, in partnership with the IRS, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, is once again offering free tax preparation and e-filing services to residents with an annual household income of $67,000 or less.
Many hardworking families risk missing out on essential tax credits without proper assistance. To ensure everyone gets the refunds and credits they deserve, IRS-trained and certified United Way VITA volunteers provide expert, free tax preparation to qualified individuals in Indian River County. This includes ensuring access to valuable credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, and Credit for the Elderly or Disabled.
Schedule your appointment today online at UnitedWayIRC.org/taxes or by calling (772) 203-5766. Tax filing begins on Monday, February 3, 2025, and appointments are required. To prepare for your appointment, clients must bring:
- A valid photo ID
- Social Security cards (or ITIN cards) for everyone listed on the return
- A copy of their 2023 tax return (if filed)
- Relevant tax documents (a full list is available at UnitedWayIRC.org)
