Doctors Take the Win at 14th Annual Sawbones vs. Jawbones Charity Softball Game
VERO BEACH, May 14, 2025 – It was a night of home runs, high-fives, and hometown pride as local doctors and lawyers took the field for the 14th annual Sawbones vs. Jawbones Charity Softball Game, presented by Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital and held at Holman Stadium at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex.
For the first time since 2017, the Sawbones (doctors) earned a long-awaited victory over the Jawbones (lawyers) in the fan-favorite matchup, led by team captains Dr. Jeff Livingston of Vero ENT Associates and attorney, Steven R. Wilson of Rossway Swan Tierney Barry and Oliver, P.L. Emcee Jeff Petersen kept the energy high and the crowd entertained throughout the night.
The evening began with the United Way Little League Cup game, followed by the main event under the stadium lights. Spectators enjoyed family-friendly fun, dinner from the concession stands, and interactive activities provided by United Way funded partners including Gifford Youth Achievement Center, Indian River County Healthy Start Coalition, Treasure Coast Homeless Services Council, The Salvation Army, Indian River Habitat for Humanity, Youth Guidance, and United Against Poverty.
“This is one of those events that truly brings the community together,” said Meredith Egan, CEO of United Way of Indian River County. “The players, the families, the organizations—it’s all in support of a stronger, healthier Indian River County.”
