Environmental Learning Center Presents "A Cuban Season"
Artist Meet & Greet: November 7, 2025 | 4-6 PM | Free to Attend

Vero Beach, FL – The Environmental Learning Center (ELC) invites the community to celebrate Cuban art and culture at "A Cuban Season," a special exhibition featuring the works of six acclaimed Cuban artists. The exhibit will be on display from November through December 2025, with a free Artist Meet & Greet event on November 7 from 4 to 6 PM.
Curated by Susan Lavender, Sheila Lougheed, and Manuel Adrian Lopez, A Cuban Season highlights the diverse talents and techniques of Mayra Alpízar Linares, Orestes Barrios Marañón, Roberto Braulio González Rodríguez, Salvador Lorenzo González, Bruno Paz, and Candida Rodriguez. Now based in Miami, these Cuban artists will travel to Vero Beach to share their work, each bringing a rich tapestry of Cuban artistic tradition expressed through painting, engraving, textiles, sculpture, and mixed media.
The Artist Meet & Greet will feature:

  • Live music performance with Brandon Putzke on bongos and Manny Moreira, acclaimed Latin guitarist and recent lead performer in the sold-out Beatles & Bossa production at Riverside Theatre
  • Complimentary Cuban appetizers, Sangria, Cuba Libres, and non-alcoholic beverages, generously sponsored by The Schlitt-Gonzalez Real Estate Team of Coldwell Banker Paradise
  • Opportunity to meet the artists and learn about their creative processes and cultural heritage
"This exhibit brings together extraordinary Cuban talent and offers our community a window into the rich artistic traditions of Cuba," said Barbara Schlitt Ford, Executive Director. "We're honored to showcase these artists' work and create a space where art, culture, and community come together."
The Artist Meet & Greet on November 7 is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required, but appreciated. Find more details and register HERE. The exhibit will remain on display at the ELC through December 2025 during regular hours.
