ELC’s Annual Fundraiser is Saturday, February 3, 2024
(Vero Beach, Florida) January 15, 2024 -- The Environmental Learning Center’s annual fundraiser Mangroves, Moonlight, and Mambo is Saturday, February 3, 2024, on the ELC campus at the Thomas R. Schidel Education and Event Pavilion. Ticket holders will enjoy the sights and sounds of Cuba, dinner, and dancing. Miami band Cache Live will entertain with traditional Latin music along the lines of the Buena Vista Social Club band.
As guests arrive, they will see antique cars and be offered signature drinks, Mojitos, and Cuba Libres featuring Islamorada Distilling rum. Walking Tree Brewery will be on site for the evening with a selection of their local craft beer. Wild Thyme Catering is serving Cuban favorites; 1905 Salad, Ropa Viejo, Spanish Chicken Stew, Congii, Yucca con Mojo, and Key Lime Pie. Fundraising activities include a Silent Auction, a 50/50 Raffle Drawing, and a Call to the Heart video.
Companies and individuals can support the mission of the ELC by purchasing Mangroves, Moonlight, and Mambo sponsor or general admission tickets and 50/50 raffle tickets. Advance tickets can be purchased online at Mangroves & Moonlight | Discoverelc, by mail, or in person at ELC Guest Services. The ticket purchase deadline is January 26th. Corporate sponsors include Elite Landscape Lighting, Islamorada Distilling, Walking Tree Brewery, Perfect Stix, Gotta Go Green, and Schlitt Brothers Painting.
The ELC’s mission is to educate, inspire, and empower all people to be active stewards of the environment and their well-being. Founded 36 years ago, the ELC is committed to sharing the importance of protecting and restoring natural resources. From toddlers to teenagers and adults, the ELC has opportunities for learning through outdoor adventures, eco-tours, wellness classes, brown bag lunch and learns, and special events including a nature-inspired art exhibit series. The 64-acre non-profit island nature center is located at the western edge of the Wabasso Bridge on County Road 510.
