"Deeply Rooted" is the exciting kick-off celebration for Indian River County's Centennial Celebration, marking 100 years of rich history, community growth, and cultural heritage. This event will honor the county’s Citrus, River, and Cattle roots showcasing its vibrant traditions, and highlight its journey through the past century. It sets the tone for the festivities to come in the upcoming months, bringing together residents and visitors to celebrate a milestone that reflects the county’s deeply rooted connections to its people, land, and legacy.
“Deeply Rooted” will bring together descendants of pioneer families whose histories are intertwined with the cattle, river, and citrus industries—three pillars that have shaped Indian River County’s growth and resilience. During the event, these families will share personal stories and historic images that reveal a rich tapestry of community heritage.
A highlight of the event will be a panel discussion where family members will recount memories and experiences from a unique era in Florida’s history, offering guests a window into life in the early days of the county.
Guests will also have the opportunity to participate in a live auction featuring unique, locally inspired items that celebrate Indian River’s legacy and support Vero Heritage’s mission to preserve and promote this history. Proceeds from the event will directly benefit Vero Heritage and its ongoing efforts to preserve the history of the Heritage Center and the Indian River Citrus District.
We are excited to honor the families who have contributed so much to the fabric of our community. “This is not only a celebration of our county’s centennial but a time to reflect on the lives and legacies that have brought us here. We invite the community to join us for an evening of history, storytelling, and connection.”
