About "LYRICAL":
A new art series by Xaque Gruber inspired by song lyrics, poetry, and nursery rhymes.
A lifelong artist and writer, Xaque Gruber began reading nursery rhymes - his first love – at the age of two, which evolved into a passion for fairy tales, The Wizard of Oz, Disney, Tolkein, fantasy. In First Grade, Xaque’s father, Dave, gave him the novel Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland, which he fell in love with and it has stayed with him forever. Xaque’s mother, Joann, played 1970s records through his childhood, shaping his love for music. By age thirteen, Xaque became an avid music buyer and listener – eventually running a radio station in Brooklyn and writing as a music journalist for Huffington Post and other news outlets. He listens to his vinyl records every day while he paints in his Vero Beach Art Studio (1420 20th Street) and gets as wrapped up in the lyrics as much as the music. When asked to do a show at San Telmo's Decor, Xaque knew he wanted to create an exhibit (drawing, painting, mixed media) exploring the imagery inspired by lyrics, nursery rhymes and poetry…
