weVENTURE Women's Business Center is pleased to offer another Work for Yourself@50+ workshop!

AARP Foundation’s Work for Yourself@50+ workshops help low – to moderate – income adults age 50 and older gain the knowledge, support, and resources they need to make informed decisions about self-employment opportunities.

The workshop will walk participants through the Work for Yourself@50+ materials and connect them with local resources to help them reach their goals. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to develop a business plan, create rock-solid financials, and work one-on-one with a coach to meet their needs.

The decision to start a business can be both exciting and scary. Work for Yourself@50+ breaks the choices down for older adults in an approachable way through five steps:
• Explore Your Options – review different types of self-employment and decide if self-employment is right for you!
• Find Your Focus – pinpoint your area of interest
• Make a Plan – review startup considerations, strategies and preliminary first steps
• Watch Out for Trouble – guidance to avoid pitfalls and scams
